Paying our respects to the fallen... - 16/11/2018

As a final act of commemoration this year, we held a special assembly to honour those who have died in World War 1 and other conflicts over the last 100 years.  All staff and students wore a crocheted red poppy, kindly made by one of our Teaching Assistant.  We observed the two minutes silence, following on from the playing of "The Last Post".

A number of guests including school governors, representatives of The Royal British Legion, The Lions Club and local councillors have visited school to view our WW1 exhibition.  This has received many favourable comments and I feel that we have recalled the sacrifice of those who died with thanks, respects and reverence.

Leek Post & Times also printed photos of our displays and a lovely write up - see Newsletters page if you haven't already seen the local press! And Middleport Pottery (creators of The Weeping Window display) also commented on how great our creations were.
