Christmas 2020 shoebox appeal - 20/10/2020

< Back to the news< Back to the news

This year at The Meadows we are once again going to participate in 'Operation Christmas Child' which is a charity lead scheme by Samaritans Purse, which provides international support to children. The aim is to gather as many filled Christmas themed shoeboxes as possible to donate to other countries whose children may not receive the same luxuries as we do.

A small shoebox can have a big impact, the items placed inside do not need to be fancy or even expensive. A small cuddly toy, colouring books/pens, small games/puzzles, card games, a toothbrush, hair clips/bobbles for girls, toy cars/vehicles, hats, gloves, even a pair of socks; whatever you can think of!  All these things will bring such joy to a child who has far less than we do.  It is a lovely activitiy to do with your child as you pick out items to put into your shoebox and you will be helping teach your child about thinking of others less fortunate than ourselves.

This year Miss Fitzpatrick will be working alongside Mr Harvey to ensure that we can try collectively to gather as many filled shoeboxes as possible before the 9th November 2020, to help change children's lives all over the world, even amid a global pandemic, because now more than ever, children need hope. They will then be checked and collected and safely sent on to those most in need.

Thank you.
