Week beginning 4th March saw the school immersed in the National Careers week.  Students spent time researching jobs they are interested in.  Teachers linked skills students learn in the classroom and their subjects to job areas, work experience and community services.

A webinar training event took place to inform staff and give an overview of the National Careers Service. An e-pack is available for schools from this service which includes Labour Market Information. The Labour Market Information tells us what employment is taking place in our region and other regions in the country, average income, growing job sectors and where most jobs are now.

There is also a free phone number (0800 1000 900), website and email service to access impartial advice, guidance and information.  It is worth noting that the National Careers Service is available to adults seeking advice as well as school students.

The school plan to upload the next e-pack from the National Careers Service to our website for students and parents to browse and explore, so look out for its arrival every quarter.
