On Tuesday 7th of June, my wife and I visited The Meadows to help the students and staff to celebrate Her Majesty the Queen's Platinum Jubilee. The atmosphere was full of excitement as the students moved from room to room, playing games with great enthusiasm and competitiveness. The whole school had been decorated with flags, posters and artwork depicting the Queen and her reign. Tables had been laid out in the corridors both upstairs and downstairs and decorated with festive tablecloths, paper crowns and laden with sandwiches and cakes. At 2pm everyone stood to sing the National Anthem and give three hearty cheers for Her Majesty! The sandwiches were then devoured followed by the cakes, all washed down with copious bottles of pop. This was truly a day to remember and I’m sure the students will remember the event for many years to come. An enormous thank you to everyone who contributed to make the party so memorable, clearly the preparations had taken months and a great deal of hard work had been involved. I’m sure everyone involved will agree that it was well worth the effort.

God Save the Queen!
